Hello all! Thank you for checking out Tidy Paws. My name is Joe Mazek and in November of 2023 my love for dogs and desire to start my own business drove me to start Tidy Paws Pet Waste Removal. Some may consider this a “crappy” job, but I really love what I do.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked physically demanding jobs and I’ve worked sit-down desk jobs, but with each position my back had always been a problem. The pain of multiple back issues always caught up to me and prevented me from pursuing any position long-term, so after much deliberation I made the decision to undergo a couple surgeries. In 2019 I followed through on my doctor’s recommendation of a disc replacement in my neck, and in June of 2023 I had a spinal fusion in my lower back. Both surgeries were successful, but still extremely limited my work capacity. For my family and ultimately myself, I had to figure something out.

I brainstormed with my wife, Lara, and one occupation really stood out: scooping poop. Dogs have always held a special place in my life and having 2 dogs of my own, I understood firsthand just how quickly your dogs’ waste can get out of hand. Plus, they’ve given me quite a lot of poop-scooping experience! So, with a long-handled rake a desire to see this business grow, I set out to start Tidy Paws
